Are there any poem devices in this poem?( i.e. metaphor,imagery,allusion etc.)?
through the house give glimmering light
my the dead and drowsy fire;
every elf and fairy sprite
hop as light as bird from brier;
and this ditty after mr
sing,and dance it trippingly,
first rehearse your song by rote,
to each word a warbling note;
hand in hand,with fairy grace,
will we sing and bless this place.
i already found rhyme,simile,and imagery….are there any more?
sorry i forgot to mention i didnt write this poem its by william shakespeare.
There is sooo much personification it kinda hurts. Fires cannot be drowsy. notes don’t warble, houses cannot give anything, ect.
Sounds somewhat like a hyperbole also.

man, you are a good writer. I haven’t seen a poem this good on YA, never. You should be on Oprah best selling blah blah….whatever it is…I don’t watch much, or at all.
