IMDB rating: 7.10 Plot: The film revolves around Park Hee-bong, a man in his late 60s. Park runs a small snack bar on the banks of the Han River and lives with his two sons, one daughter, and one granddaughter. The Parks seem to lead a quite ordinary and peaceful life, but maybe a bit poorer than the average Seoulite. Hee-bong’s elder son Gang-du is an immature and incompetent man in his 40s, whose wife left home long ago. Nam-il is the youngest son, an unemployed grumbler, and daughter Nam-joo is an archery medalist and member of the national team. One day, an unidentified monster suddenly appears from the depths of the Han River and spreads panic and death, and Gang-du’s daughter Hyun-seo is carried off by the monster and disappears. All the family members are in a great agony because they lost someone very dear to them. But when they find out she is still alive, they resolve to save her. |

I’ve run out of books to read and I need another book or series I can get hooked on. I like fantasy/paranormal books with lots of twists and mystery and stuff. I want a little romance in the books I read. Also onene of my favorite book series is MortaInstrumentsts series. Anything that’similarar to that would be great!

I have some unpublished fantasy novels of mine that doesn’t involve any of the above. :0)
Seriously. I don’t write mainstream, though I read some of it.
The storyline of the series centers on two lost princesses plunged into a fight against a tyrant king on Dead Earth and his armies of Hellion’s Gate–even as they strive to recover what they lost in terms of past lives, family, and royal status.
Along the way, they meet up with a handsome ship’s captain whom is embroiled in a personal conflict with a neighboring dynasty whose queen has some romantic designs on him. (But so does the main character, Princess Jeanna Ulyssus.)
However, they all run into resistance in the form of an invasion on a local seaside township, a seige on the open ocean and a confrontation with the queen herself–which results in the two princesses’ eventual capture.
I’ve only gotten two and a third of the books complete so far. But most of the elements included in Stories of the Dead Earth is what you would call ‘paranormal’ but with a comedic twist.
I didn’t want the whole experience to sound ‘panned’ or ‘dead’, but something lively and often unexpected.
Along with sky dragons, mecha, and magic, I combined my love of RPGs and anime to create this rather unusual book series.
The two princesses in question are high-level magic users with their own 5th-generation power armor and mecha configuration abilities. Plus they have the help of two specialized wrist-comps named Seth and Merlin to guide them through some of the tough spots.
And what they fight or *encounter* is beyond most people’s basic understanding. It combines a lot of religious annecdotes, mysticism, and some lampooned hilarity–but I wanted something *different* for the characters to confront, face, and eventually defeat.
And it’s never easy either. A lot of times, everyone in question is faced with near death on some occasions and others…? It’s just downright CREEPY.

I’d recommend Yasmine Galenorn’s books. They’re about some sisters who are part elven. One is a moon maiden, one is a witch with wonky powers, one is a shapeshifter and the last becomes a vampire.
