Actors: Documentary I'm I too demanding, or is my husband too lazy? girl he make the money you take care of the kids Sheniquah | Feb 06, 2010 .As a SAHM the kids and home are your job. Yes, you should go out and have fun sometimes, but if you aren’t comfy leaving the kids with hubby, hire a sitter. He sounds like a slob and inconsiderate, but that’s what you married and since you aren’t working outside the home anymore, it’s up to you to take care of things. When he gets home in the evening, caring for the children and getting them ready for bed, should be a shared act…you shouldn’t have to care for the kids from dawn until bedtime when he has set work hours. Your work day should "end" at the same time as his…and from there on, you two should be sharing in whatever needs to be done. BabeHart | Feb 06, 2010 Why didn’t I found someone to babysit me like you do to your husband? Irreversible | Feb 06, 2010 Your husband does sound awfully lazy, not to mention a monumental slob. But, can you hire some help? You need a break just for YOU, without him around, for the sake of your mental health. Even if just to hire a sitter for some time while he is at work, so that you can go out, even if only to shop. Twins are a huge amount of work, and you are clearly stretched to your limits. You may also need to relax your standards for cleanliness for a period of time, also just to give yourself a bit of a break. He is not going to change, so you need to figure out a way to adapt to what is. It’s harder for you to think about it clearly when you are stressed out of your gourd, but you do need to make time just for yourself. Don’t tell him – just DO it. You don’t need his permission to hire some daytime assistance (IMO), but you clearly do need some help. Breathe….breathe…. I agree with BabeHart! That whole stay at home mom business is a SHAM! Actors: Evans Carl T.,Pistilli Jarrod,Laska Scott,Spellman Joe,Wynne Brendan,Moriarty Michael O’Grady,Apt Luka,Arndt Tim,Bilyeu Justin,Comedy, I lost Control of my dog and had to take action but was it the right action? Why was it needed to kick your dog? If you can’t control him on a walk you shouldn’t be walking him. Find someone else to take him on walks that can remain in control of him. If your dog gets into something like this again, you grab his hind legs and pull him away, the other owner will have to do the same so you can safely separate them. If the dogs were fighting you have to do what you have to do to get them to stop. If that is what it took to stop the dog then you did the right thing. You can’t just stand their and let the dogs rip each other to shreds. However, if you can’t control the dog then you shouldn’t be walking him and if he knew a come back call command or basic training the kicking wouldn’t have been needed. No. Kicking the dog should have been a last resort if any at all. You must be in control of your dog at all times. You ‘lost the leash’. Which means you were not paying attention. Or you need a better way to control your dog. Try a prong collar, dear. http://leerburg.com/prong.htm Launi *Built Ford Tough* | Feb 05, 2010 No you could simply have pulled his collar back. The thing is though is that you didn’t have much time to think. Anna | Feb 05, 2010 the best thing to do when to dogs are fighting is grab your dogs coller and pull them back. be sure to NEVER get between fighting dogs. you can get hurt oh yeah if u cant pull them back why u walkin them!??!? you should be stronger than the dog or dont walk them at all yea itz me | Feb 05, 2010 You did break up the fight without getting bitten yourself. Some suggestions for the future. Socialize your dog better. Take him to basic obedience so he doesn’t pull on his leash and does what you tell him to do and learns to get along better with other dogs. An unleashed dog running toward a leashed dog is a very threatening behavior. Until you can control him, I would use a prong collar. They keep the dog from pulling and give you more control. marci knows best | Feb 05, 2010 I am sorry, but kicking your dog was not the right thing to do. Unless the dogs were involved in an intense fight you should have taken back the lead and regained control or your dog. As a side note if dogs are involved in a fight never ever stick your arm or hand in to try and break it up. You may very well lose one or the other. This is the very reason I do not keep small dogs. I have been there done that, cried all the way to the vet. Next time you get close enough to kick the dog, grab the leash and pull them apart. Obedience classes would be good for both you and the dog. Good luck. Don’t walk a dog that you know is stronger than you and can overpower you. I wouldn’t do such a thing, but there aren’t very many dogs that I can’t control and keep hold of. Basic training is absolutely necessary. Seeing another dog and bolting is not proper training. He paid no attention to you. Just the other dog and that he wanted to get over there. Does he know the meaning of "come"? Does he listen when you say it? Until you can control the dog properly, have someone else walk him. As for kicking him, you did what you did and there’s no changing that. You got them apart and that’s what matters. However, you need to learn the proper techniques to breaking up a dog fight if you are ever in this situation again. It will not only protect you, but also protect the dogs involved. The "damned" dog as you referred to it was probably spooked. Here comes your dog, not under control to confront him. He didn’t like it, was probably scared, so he bit your dog. Keep control of your animals at all times. You didn’t do the right thing at all. Your dog did what it was trained to do and no I’m not saying you trained it to fight, but you didn’t train it properly. You need to get a no pull leash(and not the ones with the spikes on the inside of the collar.) maybe a harness instead of a leash and possibly a cloth/leash type of muzzle because if it bites again it could be deamed a potentially dangerous animal and be euthanized. Train your dog better or give it to someone who can. Puppy mills & BYB's go to ** | Feb 05, 2010 Did your action lead to a deescalation of the fighting and reduce the overall number of injuries to your dog? If so, then it wasn’t as bad as you think because you needed to separate the two dogs without getting yourself hurt in the process. If not, well, it was a silly thing to do buy you were feeling panicked. a.lee | Feb 05, 2010 If you broke up the fight without getting hurt yourself, then it was the right thing at the time. I might have done the same thing in the same circumstance, and you have very little time to think about it when these things happen. Kicking is an instinctive reaction. Don’t worry about the dog. He probably barely realized, in the heat of the moment, that it was you that kicked him and dogs are pretty tough. It’s usually the shock value of the kick that does it. not the pain. Never ever break up a dog fight by grabbing the collar, as someone suggested. That’s the best way I know to get bitten and bitten hard, and trust me, a bite to the hand can be very painful even if the teeth don’t break the skin. The collar is too close to the teeth of either dog, and when they get all riled up, dogs don’t know who they bit and the neck is very often what they’re aiming for. They won’t even notice your hand in the way. Grabbing the leash would have been a better choice, or grabbing your own dog by the tail if it has one long enough. What concerns me more is that you had a leash on the dog and lost control of him anyway. One, you should have spotted that your dog was about to take off, or at least was looking hard at the other dog, and headed off that reaction with the leash or by voice, or both. You need to be alert to what’s around you so you can prevent things like this before it’s too late. Two, you need to have a better grip on the leash if your dog does this kind of thing. Wrap it around your hand a time or two, don’t just hold it with your fingers. 15

Thanks in advance! No, that is defintely not normal. Crickets are small and easily swallowed. If he does not stop this very soon, you will need to pick him up and look in his throat, to see if there is a blockage. It is possible that he swallowed a piece of bark or a rock instead of a cricket, and that he is choking on it. However, it may not related to his throat at all. Is his whole head going up and falling backwards? This may be caused by a disease called IBD, which is usually fatal, but typically only occurs in boas and pythons. Zoe | Jan 04, 2007 Sure. It would look like it’s trying to get something down. If there’s something wrong with him, I guess you’d have to get a new snake… At least you have all the equipment now so it wouldn’t be expensive like before. Sound like the snake is dry heaving. Did it go out clubbing or at the bar yesterday night? Could be one shot of Jaegermeister too many. Tones | Jan 04, 2007 its a normal eating pateren from the sound of things, but laying on his side dosent sound good buddy d | Jan 04, 2007 Sounds to me like you guys don’t know how to take care of a snake. Your hope was that it chased down a big cricket in the tank? Well, did you feed him a cricket? If indeed there is a cricket, where is the bulge? Behind it’s head or more down (roughly a quarter of the way down it’s body?) Good luck to that snake… first, what kind of green snake is it? Green vine sanke, rought green snake, smooth green snake, green rat snake???? second you said it was on a VINE with its head on the SAND? if its a tropical snake like a asian vine snake then it should be on some type of mulch bedding like bedabeast. if its a desert snake like a green rat snake then it should have any type of mositure in its tank. This could be the troblem. If its a tropical snake and it was trying to a cricket and got a mouth full of sand it could be choking. Hope this helps….. I never had a green snake begore.. but I did paly with small GUARDER SNAKES when I was younger.. they are not posionous and they didn’t seem to bite me either.. But I never seen a snake eat a cricket or bug.. but maybe that’s just their way of eating.. they may recurgatate their food then swallow.. amanda | Jan 04, 2007 |
