Being in love hurts… so is it ok to be with someone you love and care abt but NOT love?
I loved this man for 8 years of my life and was emotionally torn when he cheated on me. I went through emotional torture. I have since moved on and met a wonderful guy. I love and care abt him, but I am NOT in love with him. Maybe one day my feelings may change but for now, is it ok to be with someone you love and care abt but not be in love with?

8 wasted years of your life on some one who didn’t appreciate this love, enough reason to delete his ever existed memories in your life, I believe your life will be stable with the new guy, im sure you do love him but you don’t want to admit it to yourself and get another disappointment

good luck and take care

Who thought it was wrong for Michael Jackson's children to Speak at the honor awards.?
I have got thumbs down for answering the question about them even being there. I feel if Michael wanted his children to be all over the TV he had 13 years to do that. Since his death Paris has spoke at his public memorial which I felt was good, because it showed the world a more human side of Michael. All this other stuff I don’t find right. They were all over the papers at Disneyland, they got into a finder bender with the paparazzi which Michael wrote the song "Privacy" and it was about him, his family and Princess Dianna getting killed by the paparazzi.
Michael Jackson-privacy lyrics which says your stalking my family in it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVUWxkBdE bg
Than them coming on stage for the Honor of there father. I know people ment the best, but michael didn’t want his children in the spot light. The last thing that ticked me off was when I seen them and I must say they are beautiful, but there hair was choped off. He said in a interview he never wanted to cut his children’s hair. I believe he felt this way, because in the black culture they never cut there children’s hair. Not even the boys. Im mixed and my daughters hair is almost to there back and all they have had was trims, but I have sisters and brothers and they have boys who hasn’t had there hair cut and it’s to the middle of there back. It get braided or shall I say corn rolls to who doesn’t know. MY point is everything Michael did was for a reason and he didn’t want his children to be bombarded by the media like he was since he was 11, so why did Kathrine allow this to happen.
This Time Around: Maybe your right and I looked at it the wrong way. I do remember him saying if they wanted to become stars would he let them and he said they can do what ever they want. Maybe they are old enough to make there own choice

Yes a little because Michael did his best to protect the children.. bu ireally wanted to see them.. So its bittersweet.. i just hope Gossip sites likeTMZ and Meditakeout dont talk about theem.
Btw they really are Great Kids

Good playstation 3 games?
Hi, so I just got a PS3 and I was looking for a good game for it that would fit my interests. I already looked around some, but I’m still having trouble. Some games that have interested me but are holding doubts are:

Folklore – the storyline seems kind of weak to me
PixelJunk Shooter – i prefer something that would last longer, as in length
Guitar Hero – that’s actually what I’m getting soon.

Games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are fun to watch for me, but I’d rather not play it (maybe I’ll try, but I probably won’t be any good at it). Final Fantasy 13 is quite interesting for me and I will be getting it when it comes out (March 2010 I believe), since Final Fantasy has most of what I’m looking for in games in it, which is a good plot, good characters, good playing length, and action/adventure, plus lots of creativity. So basically, if you could help me by suggesting games that fit my "wants", that would be great and I’d really appreciate it (:

Thanks much

Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

However why don’t you have Star Wars the original trilogy?
Also i recommend "The Circle of Iron" (aka the Silent flute).

Also Bobby please when you get the chance watch the full Planet of the Apes quintology it is both fun and has amazing ideas within then. The new film doesn’t do it justice.

IMDB rating: 5.70

Plot: Arthur is a spirited ten-year old whose parents are away looking for work, whose eccentric grandfather has been missing for several years, and who lives with his grandmother in a country house that, in two days, will be repossessed, torn down, and turned into a block of flats unless Arthur’s grandfather returns to sign some papers and pay off the family debt. Arthur discovers that the key to success lies in his own descent into the land of the Minimoys, creatures no larger than a tooth, whom his grandfather helped relocate to their garden. Somewhere among them is hidden a pile of rubies, too. Can Arthur be of stout heart and save the day? Romance beckons as well, and a villain lurks.

Read wuthering heights because it is what twilight was roughly based off of–minus the vamps–and that seems to be popular with the girls these days. I read it and I’m a guy and loved it. I highly suggest this, with Slaughter house 5 as the second pick.

Recession squeeze hits scholarships
13.10.09

Between reading “Beowulf” and writing his thesis
on a knight of the Round Table, Andrew M. Richmond devoted
time last spring to a more modern quest: finding money to
pay for graduate school.

Holed up in his dormitory room at the University of
Massachusetts, the senior literature major from Monson spent
hours applying for the dwindling number of fellowships
available to graduate students.

“It was like a second job, but you have to do
it,” explained Richmond, who enrolled at the University
of Cambridge in England this fall. “You have to apply
for as many as you can.”

Across the Pioneer Valley, some foundations have cut back
on student aid, while others try to hold steady amid a
recession that is taking an increasingly harsh toll on
education and philanthropy.

Some groups, such as the Community Foundation of Western
Massachusetts and the Big Y World Class Markets Foundation,
have struggled to maintain funding levels, despite shrinking
investment income or reduced donations.

Others, including the Springfield-based Horace Smith Fund,
have reduced the number of scholarships or given out smaller
amounts to students.

“We had to make some changes. There were not many good
alternatives,” said Benjamin Bump, executive secretary
of the Smith Fund.

The difficult decisions faced by the educational charities
reflect the new, post-recession reality confronting nearly
all philanthropic groups nationwide. Even as their
endowments are shrinking, foundations are facing
unprecedented requests for help.

One the largest, the Minneapolis-based Scholarship America,
distributed 53,380 scholarships for 2008, down 16 percent
from the previous year.

At the same time, the organization, which oversees 1,200
separate funds, said the number of applications rose by 15
percent, to 352,949.

I just read Conan The Barbarian will be remade. Everyday I hear a possible train wreck. Some albeit are good but some look soooooo bad. The A-team? The Karate Kid? Cmon! Stop already!

What do you expect to be bad and dishonor the original.

I agree with you 100%…they can’t make anything worthwhile in Hollywood so they just rehash all of our classics. The A-Team looks horrible too!

Jesus cursed a fig tree for not bearing fruit. Is it rational to demand a tree bear fruit out of season?
Jesus cursed a fig tree for not bearing fruit out of season. Is it rational to demand a tree bear fruit out of season?

Good question!
I think it was just a story, to illustrate a point: if you as a human does nothing, has no "raison d’etre" so to speak, you too will be "cursed" and "whither away".
The only thing the fig tree was supposed to do was bear fruit, and it didn’t, so it served no purpose to Life.
Don’t take the bible too literally! It contains lots of simple parables which serve as guides for getting through Life with as little scarring as possible. You don’t even have to be religious to like the wisdoms in the bible — ancient nuggets of truth handed on from long before the age of Jesus Christ.

Absinthe | Sep 29, 2008

that’s what He wants from us, to bear fruit in any season, in or out of

There should have been small figs on it at this season but weren’t

Mat 21:19 And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, "Let no fruit grow on you ever again." Immediately the fig tree withered away.
ken d | Sep 27, 2008

You missed the point. Jesus wanted to illustrate a truth. read the context.

If there is one thing that you should take away from reading the bible, it’s that god holds him to completely different standards than he holds humans to, the standard he applies to himself is that everything he does is right, no matter what.
This is rather similar to the standard that the various catholic sects apply to their dogma – it is simply accepted as correct, standards are only used for criticizing the ideas of others.
The Doc | Sep 27, 2008

Averell A is right basically. If you know anything about Jesus, is that he was fond of speaking in parables. As Averell suggested it’s not meant to be taken that literally that he went up to a fig tree and actually cursed it, but it’s meant to illustrate a morale and a point to what he was preaching about.
BigAnt | Sep 27, 2008

So are Fig Newtons a sin against God?

No wonder I love them so much!
Spirit Wanderer- Atheati Samurai | Sep 27, 2008

Does not make sense why any one should curse a tree, especially Jesus!
chuppkaychuppkay | Sep 27, 2008

Thats hilarious! although I am not a devout christian or anything, the character of Jesus in the bible, the parts i have read, is pretty clever. Lots of metaphors. I guess the fig tree tale is an allegory for the person…

Therefore i can only posit that it is rational to demand a person can detach him/herself from a stifling convention to create something vital and nourishing

:P
crackk_dealer | Sep 27, 2008

Well…wouldn’t you be mad if you were hungry and went to your fridge and found out it was empty? Just shows Jesus human side…
Da Mick | Sep 27, 2008

It is if you’re making a point with a parable about fruit. Talk about cool visual aids. Arthur Miller has nothing on JC when it comes to extended metaphors.

hollykitch | Sep 27, 2008

The fig tree represented Israel , that country had God in person for three years and only a few believed in him and they bore no fruit ( spreading the gospel )
andrew a | Sep 27, 2008

Was it really a fig tree? Yehoshua says that you can tell what type of tree it is by what type of fruit it bears.

He was not mad at the fig tree. He was using it as an example for us.

If we give/display an external appearance of being a Christian but do not have any Christian values or attributes or are not doing the good deeds that Christians should be doing, then are we REALLY Christians or are we just a bunch of sinners dressed up to make others believe that we are Christians.

Will Yehoshua cast us out come Judgment Day?

Aliens and Terminator are two of the best movies ever made. Alien and T2 are close. Dark Knight is up there and are Saw and Slumdog. The rest are decent and a few are shit (I’ll let you figure it out).
Ron B | Dec 18, 2009

Pearl Harbor
If you want to watch a love story, then go ahead. If you want to watch a movie about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, then "Tora! Tora! Tora!" is a much better choice.

Alien
A gothic horror movie set in outer space. A lot of suspense. Very good.

Aliens
A lot more aliens. A lot of action. Very different from "Alien", and very good.

Terminator
The role that Arnold Schwarzennegger was born to play. A must see.

T2
Special effects better than the first one. Most people like it just because of the special effects. I didn’t like it – the resolution of the plot destroys the premise of the first movie.

The Dark Knight
You should see this movie if for no other reason that the extraordinary performance of Heath Ledger.
